This, by the way, is a great video posted by National Geographic Kids to inspire children to want to help save lions: Mission:Lion Rescue
I found this incredible book of art projects. It's titled "Dynamic Art Projects for Children" by Denise M. Logan. I mention that because I used this book as basis to begin my How Can I Help: Endagered Animals program. I create art myself, but have a rough time developing fun lesson plans for kids, so this book has been a great help. It's available on Amazon for anyone who is interested.

The project I started with is "Jazzy Jungle Cats" which is really great and shown step-by-step. Though I altered and developed it to fit the cause I wanted to address, which is endangered animals. I began researching the Asiatic Lion and wow, I really found them interesting. I've been an animal lover all of my life and in almost every television program, magazine, documentary, zoo, stage act or even Hollywood production including lions, it's just about always the famous cousin, the African Lion, who gets the spotlight. Now, I love African Lions and God knows they need a lot of attention for the conservation of their habitat, too. But they are not endangered, and the less popular Asiatic Lion, who in fact is endangered, is never really a topic of interest. So I decided I would get the conversation going. It might not be much, but if I can get a few people to take notice, it might make a positive change for the good. I am developing this movement while studying with the University of New Mexico, Art Education program, and hope to continue and grow it as long as possible.

We can't on our own change the world, but I am convinced that even small steps in the right direction can make a big impact for the next generation. Thanks for visiting! :)
